We understand that first-year nurses require support and guidance to succeed. The Vizient/American Association of Colleges of Nursing Nurse Residency Program™ helps to build the specific competencies, critical thinking skills and strong leadership abilities that incoming nurses need. Our evidence-based curriculum, developed by experts from academic medical centers and nursing schools from across the country, also includes professional development of competencies beyond basic and unit-specific operational skills.
The 12 month program provides residents with:
- Enhanced use of evidence-based decision making
- Increased functioning as an advocate for patients, famĀilies and the organization
- Engagement in crucial time-sensitive conversations
- Expanded leadership skills
